THE BOOK CASE
We are a well established small bookshop in Hebden Bridge in the
heart of the Pennines in West Yorkshire, England. The countryside
surrounding Hebden Bridge is very beautiful and popular with visitors
and walkers from all over the world. Visitors to Hebden Bridge may
be interested in our list of local guides.
Haworth, where the famous Brontë sisters lived, is only a
few miles over the moors. The poet Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes,
the late Poet Laureate, once lived in the village of Heptonstall
perched above Hebden Bridge on the edge of Pennine moorland. Anne
Lister, whose diaries give such a vivid insight into the life of
the lesbian traveller and landowner in Halifax in the early 19th
century, lived at Shibden Hall just 8 miles away.
Apart from the owners, Peter and Anne Tillotson, three experienced
booksellers work in the shop; Felicity, Kate and Simon with help
from Ness, Carol and Anna. Each one of us has brought different
areas of interest to the shop which is reflected in the range of
stock and our ability to research and supply information about current
English and American titles on many subjects. We can often supply
titles which are unavailable elsewhere. |
